Students work independently on teacher directed themes. As art is made to communicate ideas to others through telling a story, recording a scene, creating pictures of people, fun and imagination, decoration and thoughts and feelings, students explore a variety of aspects based around these themes. Practicing skills and techniques to broaden understanding of key art concepts are also used as a basis for themes covered. Still life, photographs and contemporary and traditional artists are used as visual resources for learning.
